2010 AGM will be held prior to windup dinner starting 6pm - all members are encouraged to participate and have a say in their 2011 season.

There's some updates to the results. Like the last update, they are not complete, however there is a lot of corrections and additions. It's really fun to do data entry when people ride others bikes and change their race numbers and write their bike number on the sign on form with dislexia. :-) Brett

As part of our weekly "Auto Torque" page the Geraldton Guardian will be running a rider/driver profile from local sports. Sports we are targeting include Speedway, Karting, MotoX and BMX. Attached is our profile form in which people can fill out and send in, along with a current picture, to have published in our "Auto Torque" page in the Midwest Times and Motoring Guide in Friday's Geraldton Guardian. If you could suggest to rider's of your club to participate that would be fantastic. I'm sure I'm not the only person that would like to see some local rider/driver profile to create more awareness about your great sport.

The Dongara track is currently closed for maintenance and will be open for Rd 2 Sunday, May 4th.

Dirty Number plates, the scorers had a hard time last round reading number plates. Please clean your front and side plates before each race. The number is needed not only for scoring but to keep track of fallen or pulled out riders. If plates are too dirty to read you may be black-flagged to have your plates cleaned before being allowed to continue the race. Also some bikes have other graphics and non plain backgrounds making the number hard to read. Check your manual of motorcycle sport to see what you are allowed to have.

We have a practice permit for the Geraldton & Dongara tracks. A roster has not yet been done for the gero track, you must arrange an official to attend practice The official can obtain paper work & keys from Debbie Gould or Janet Daly. To practice at Dongara you must have an official & contact Don to arrange paper work. Cost is $5.00 at both tracks & you must purchase a rec license if you don't have a MWA license. Don't forget to bring your license & club membership with you.

Finally finished the second part to Jake Fewsters backflip video. Less than 2 weeks after the first attempt, Jake was back on the bike keen to complete a clean flip over the now 'altered' jump. It's titled "Jakes Flippin Mad" I believe Jake has great style and loads of talent, so after the jump and downramp are modified (in the near future) we will get some film of him landing a flip on the 125cc. Signup Day

There will be a signup day at Northgate shopping centre on Saturday March the 1st from 8 until 12.
Can everyone please try and make it there so less paper work and more riding can be done on grading day (we would rather do the paperwork in the A/C than the dust)
Club fees are the same this year as last year $130.00 single and $170.00 Family.
All 2008 club memberships will finish on January 31st next year and a 2008 membership card will be necessary to ride at grading day on March 16th. Even though some don’t expire until the end of March.
We have a new flag system this year so keep looking at this web site for an explanation on how it will work. JR

They came at great personal expense to Tony Parker who only took the photo's because his motorcycle was 'un-ridable' pretending it was a truck, with it's large exhaust stack pointing straight up in the air. Perfect Conditions for round 8 Dongara

Whyatt Farm Dongara was awakened with the roar of 80 motocross bikes on Sunday 29th of July when the Geraldton Junior & Senior Motocross Club held round 7 of the clubs championships.

The wintry weather leading up to the event made for perfect conditions for motocross racing in which all divisions competed for club points.
Cervantes rider Jake Fewster again showed his skill with wins in both the 65 and 85 classes and Dongara Motorcycles rider Hayden Vermeer held off strong fights from Sun City Motorcycles Jake Fewster and moments of brilliance from Matt Boyd in the Junior 250/125 class.

The return to racing from injury by North Town Yamaha’s Justin Sotiroff gave the Veterans someone to chase, with Justin leading from start to finish in each race.
Dongara Motor Cycles riders Brendon Davis and Brodie Weinman led the fields in the C and B grade races while Sun City Motor Cycles Neville Blakeney was again just too fast for North Town Yamaha’s Jared Blakeney in the A grade competition.

The next round of Motocross will be held at Geraldton on Sunday August 12. Racing from 10.00

The lure of one of WA’s best motocross tracks was just too much for the eighty keen members of the Geraldton Junior & Senior Motocross Club who met at Jurien Bay for Round 6 of the GJSMX Clubs 2007 Club Championships. The deep sand was hard going for the Pee Wee class but Jake Fewster from Cervantes made short work of the circuit with wins in both the 65 and 85 classes. Brodie Weinman again dominated the B grade class while Jarred and Neville Blakeney showed the huge crowd why they are amongst some of WA’s best MX riders with outstanding performances.
The next round of the Geraldton Junior & Senior Motocross Club will be held on Sunday, 29 July at Whyatt Farm, Dongara. Racing from 10.00am

Rain Falls Prior to Pony Express

There were a few days of rain that fell in the Midwest leading up to Sunday June 25. It made for an excellent days riding for all that fronted for the Dongara Pony Express held at Aramool Farm 35km south of Dongara.
The Geraldton Junior & Senior Motocross Club held the event, which drew riders from all over the state to test their endurance over the 20km corse.
After the blast of the shotgun, the first group headed bush for the first lap of the 4-hour event. Michael Kennedy set a blinding pace with a first lap time of 20minutes 48seconds, after which he tagged his partner Brodie Weinman to complete the next lap. Another standout rider for the day was Daniel Woodman who competed as an Iron-man and took on the 4-hour event with out a partner. A great days riding was had by all.
The GJSMXC will hold another Pony Express event later in the year.
The next Motocross round will be held on Sunday July 15 at Jurien Bay. Racing from 10.00am, spectators welcome.

I stayed up way past fat cat tonight, to bring you people my first movie. I've compiled a bunch of footage I took at round 4 in Dongara mixed in a wicked track by Audioslave. It's a big file unfortunately 23.5MB... I did a test download took 2:43sec - I have 1.5mb ADSL (i need to choose a shorter song next time) For broadband users with 512kb/sec or higher, shouldn't be a problem. Australia's favorite son Chad Reed made a triumphant return to Australian motocross racing when he overcame a determined Daniel Reardon to claim round 4 of the Nokia MX Nationals at Newcastle today (May-20), whilst in the Pro Lites Serco Yamaha's Jake Moss laid claim to his third double win of the years to become a tear away points leader in the class. more details...

Chad Reed will be on the gate at Newcastle

Yamaha Australia have confirmed that Chad Reed will race in Australia. The former AMA and World Supercross champion will compete in round four of the Nokia MX Nationals at Raymond Terrace, Newcastle, NSW on May 20th. Reed has just secured the runner-up position in the World SX GP and AMA SX series’, re-affirming his position as one of the global sport’s greatest competitors. A fan favourite and hero to millions, he last competed on home soil in 2004 at a sold-out Supercross event held at Gosford on New South Wales’ central coast. Earlier this year, Reed set about exploring options to compete in a one-off event in Australia, choosing Raymond Terrace as it was closest to his home town of Kurri Kurri. There had been speculation that he may compete in a couple of races but Yamaha have confirmed that it is only the single event as American commitments see other dates clash. more details

 

Williscroft wins the Kamfari Mud Race in Darwin

Professional off-road KTM racer, Brad Williscroft has won the 2007 Kamfari mud race held in Darwin over the weekend, regaining the crown he first secured back in 2004. When Williscroft first won the event he was the only competitor outside the Northern Territory to win the race in 35 years, coming back in 2007 he has done it yet again. more details

You will notice there is no pic's of senior C grade...coz Tony was racing and had trouble holding the camera steady while whippin it off the large table top. Team Rockstar/WB R/Suzuki held their '07 team intro Thursday night at Team Suzuki's race shop. They had some team bikes to show off, and the management and sponsors were all introduced, along with their new roster of riders. Michael Byrne, Troy Adams and Kelly Smith were on hand along with their respective mechanics, and unfortunately Andrew McFarlane was a bit under the weather and couldn't make it.

Yep, just to test my skills some more, I thought I'd start on the photo page. It will end up with far more content on there, and will be arranged into sub-categories etc:
I also taught myself some FLASH Animation last night, and will be able to create animated ad's for the site for our sponsors. It req's much patience to just get 3 images to swap around and fade in/out. Well hard for a mechanic - prolly easy for a Pro' webdesigner.
